New missiles no threat to Russia
IN response to Robert O'Sullivan (Letters, August 22), I think it's only right to point out that the US is not placing weapons of mass destruction in Poland and aiming them at Russia.
We expect too much from our athletes
Continuing the debate, if anyone thought for one moment that one of our athletes had the remotest chance of capturing a gold medal at the Beijing Olympics I'm afraid that they were sadly misguided.

l ON Saturday, August 16, our family home was flooded in Newcastle, Co Down. On Monday, August 18, the general area was visited by environmental inspectors and on Thursday, August 21, all houses received £1,000 (€1,253) to help with the costs. Can you imagine such efficiency in this State?
